How to See Objective Reality with Systems Theory

Published Jun. 22, 2025

A system is the result that it provides.

A system is not what a system intends to do but what it actually does.

A car is a system built with the intention to move around faster.

That same car can become a human killer if used in a way that harms humans. The human makes the system.

The reality is that the all the car does by itself is moves. That's why it's a transportation vehicle, to transport things.

A car can also be used a status symbol or a fun device.

Money can be invested to grow your money, or as put in Wolf of Wallstreet, "Fun Coupons".

Let's take the U.S. government. Biden was president and now Trump. Have your own opinions.

For many people, U.S. politics is used for power. Many people use it to complain about whatever is happening. Politics in general are an attention stealer. Politics are also how people get to control the tools of the government. Donald Trump just launched the strike on Iran's nuclear facility. For the Iranian politicians in power, the U.S. government is a terrorist. For whoever doesn't want Iran to have nuclear weapons, the U.S. government is a peace bringer.

Take a person. One man's inspiration can be another man's enemy. A trans person can cause discomfort for many people or comfort for people in the trans community. A person can be both a comforter or dis-comforter depending on the context. The context matters. A trans man cannot get pregnant, so he's not a baby carrier in the same way a woman is. A woman can carry babies until she can't anymore.

If a person lies too much, they are a liar, if they speak their truth, they're honest. It depends on the actions they're currently taking. A liar can become a truth teller when they stop lying and start telling the truth, or their best version of it. People can tell what they think is right and be wrong even if they're honest. If something is truly an objective truth and it can be proven, then someone who is wrong is a liar for a time, but they're also curious.

People who focus solely on politics do tend to make themselves unhappy. They can definitely bring down the mood. With the right friends their an ally. With people who disagree they can be a lunatic, a threat, etc. But depending on their reasoning they can be empathetic.

Abortion is useful for not having a desired child. Someone is avoiding producing a baby. That's objective. For some it's a way for them to feel offended. For some it avoids having to pay for a child. For some it's a relief to not raising a child of someone who they don't want. For some it's freedom. For some it's a mistake. A child is not born when this procedure happens. In the future, that baby could've been a rockstar, a saint, or the next Hitler. Hard to predict, but it becomes a bit more predictable when you know the environment they'll grow up in. And at the same time, people can change.

A person who changes minds and inspires people to change their actions is influential. A person who abuses someone can be an abuser. If they can stop they can be a nice person. People can change. It's up to them if they do or not.

A car can be a transportation vehicle, a stunt enabler, a people harmer, a wall buster.

A person can be a dream haver, a wanna be, an idealist, an action taker, a result getter, a straight person, a trans person.

A leftist can be considered an idiot, or empathetic towards people with a human experience, since every human does have a human experience. They can also be weak and not capable complainers because they complain without taking action. They can take action, and through that they can become a violent person or someone who just follows the crowd. Or both!

A rightist can be a racist. They can support things that would jail women who want to have an abortion and think they're doing the right thing. They can also be considered an idiot and a bigot. Sometimes someone who would think that is right. They're both baby savers and unwanted children creation assisters.

You can be straight and have a gay thought. You can be gay and have a straight thought. That thought can generate discomfort and/or curiosity depending on the person. But all you are actually doing is thinking. Timing also matters and what stage of life a person is.

Want to be a winner? Become someone who wins things instead of loses more often than not. Not winning at something? Do something you can win at or develop your skills to win at the thing you're currently losing at. Things and people can change. An apple can be a delicious fruit or an infestation starter. The difference is time.

You want to be a musician? Make music and play music. You want to be a legendary musician? Build a reputation and become famous by playing for people and having them like (or hate it depending on what you want to be legendary for).

You want to be rich? Be happy, or have a lot of money. Both are accurate definitions.

Everyone on earth is a poop machine unless they can't poop.

The second something changes it becomes a different machine.

A person who started doing what's considered "bad" and stops doing "bad" actions is no longer bad in that moment. They've stopped being a bad person. If they start doing something "good" they're a good doer. If a person with bad intentions keeps doing good things they are actually good. It's about the result.

If a musician is starting out has a bad show where he totally wiped out, he won't be considered good. If he improves and has a good show, he will become good. He may still be considered bad by people who've only experienced him as being bad. People's minds can change if they see him performing really well. He can be a mood downer or upper depending on if he plays music that matches the mood of the environment or not. He can play a piece of country music great, but people will think he sucks if he plays it at a rap concert. Context matters.

If a software developer tries selling websites to homeless people who don't have enough money for his services, he's likely to fail at generating how much money he wants, he's a bad sales person. If he's selling websites to business owners who have money to invest in a website and know they need a website, and he can build quality websites, he's likely to succeed, he's a good sales person. A person who has only ever sold something they have to people who want and need that thing, he's a great sales person. If a sales person has made a ton of sales by lying, he's a great sales person, though it's he might not be known as being a good person by some. But what if he gives all of his money to charity? What if a great salesman who doesn't lie sells something bad? Or sells something good then donates his money to murderers? When does he stop or start being a good sales person?

Also a few more questions to think about to spark your creativity:

If a school bus runs off a cliff, what is it?

If a computer is used to create music, what is it? What if someone uses it to hack the money out of your bank account?

If a professor was teaching Nazi values and then starts teaching Western values, what was he then what is he? What if he teaches both?

Whatever is has been true most often is what we associate with something being. But that doesn't mean something can't be different. It also doesn't mean that things are different for different people.

In Summary

  • It's possible for a system to be 2 or more things at the same time.

  • It's possible to system not be something it's claimed to be.

  • Context matters

  • It's possible for something to change depending on it's output, and context. The inputs can affect this.

  • What something does overtime is what we associate it with.

  • Be aware that something can change instantly

  • Be aware that though something can change instantly doesn't mean that

  • The result it provides is the most important part.

The point I'm making is that there are many ways of seeing the world. What I'd recommend is seeing the result that something provides vs your opinion about it. Actions and results speak far louder than words.
